About the artwork:

Procedure and concept: The formal characteristics of the image are firmly attached to the work’s conceptual dimension. I take long-exposure pictures using a photographic camera pointing at a liquid-crystal display (LCD) monitor. On the screen, it is reproduced videographic archive footage that was broadcasted initially by mass media and news channels. The texture of the camera’s digital image becomes a reinterpretation and a transformation of the primary source. Motion blur, overlays, and stroboscopic effects are genuine traits of the artistic procedure. The material obtained is later digitally edited, adding stochastic film grain and density. The process alludes to the mass media image reproduction and how it creates new realities.
